Sole Gourmet Restaurant

Enjoy exclusive fine dining at Nuvole Garden – and the unique views that come with it. At the highest point of the hotel, closest to the stars, from your table at the Sole Gourmet Restaurant you can gaze over Como and the peaks of Switzerland while you peruse the selection of innovative dishes prepared from local sources. Diners may go à la carte or opt for a tasting menu. The proximity of the sun inspired the hotel's cutting-edge designer to echo the solar motif that forms the central element of the restaurant, on the silk carpet,  the textiles, the upholstery and the wallpaper. If gastronomy holds more fascination for the diner, then they can reserve a seat at the chef’s table where the curtain rises to the state-of-the-art kitchen in action as if it were a performance in the theatre. Blu restaurant

Imagine the sensation of being surrounded by water while you dine – this is what it’s like to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at Nuvole Garden’s BLU Restaurant. Many restaurants are set by a lake. But here, the designer takes things to a different level, literally speaking. Within a large, elegant ballroom, the diner feels as if they are within the lake itself, moving water washing over their heads. Around them, different shades of blue – deep indigo, turquoise green – are reproduced on velvety textiles, while the pebble-patterned floor and underwater art of Marton Uzsaly reinforce the aquatic experience. Equally, the furnishings couch you in five-star luxury, so you never lose touch with the reality of being served delicious bistro cuisine at a high-end hotel, no matter how fanciful the surroundings. Bar Negroni

The mixologists in the Bar Negroni, accessed through the piano salon, have a refreshingly extensive selection of Negroni varieties at their disposal. Campari is very much in the spotlight – close to Nuvole Garden stands a Campari fountain, one of a dozen marble monuments placed around key locations in Italy to celebrate the drink’s 75th anniversary in the 1930s. Very few remain today. The Bar Negroni is equally unique. Its Roman pantheon-like space is illuminated by 78 lamps that set the mood for romantic sipping, backdropped by gold and offset by a long bar counter where experts work their magic on the cocktail chemistry. Bruschetteria

The stars of Hollywood look down upon the Bruschetteria, the outlet that welcomes you just outside the hotel as you step off the funicular. Before entering the realm of global hospitality, you can experience real rustic Italy, its warmth and its charm – and, most of all, its produce. Fresh cheeses, olive oil and prosecco are either served as bruschetta snacks or sold at this upscale delicatessen. Bottiglieria

Special events and wine tastings are held in the Bottiglieria, the hotel’s wine vault with its precious vintages stored in rows behind glass walls. There’s a wine cellar, too, but here all is on view for public display. The hotel's designer has also managed to sneak in a little Hungarian touch – his textiles were inspired by Zsolnay, the ceramics manufacturers whose color combinations and free-flowing Art Nouveau motifs, a hit at the 1878 World Exhibition in Paris, speak to the hotel’s own heritage.
